To Celebrate the 130^th Anniversary of the Arrival of the O’Briens of Scariff in New Zealand

Celebrating the arrival of the O’Briens in New Zealand is not easy as they all arrived at different times and settled in different places!!!!

John arrived first and then moved on to Australia where Benjamin originally went.

Micheal and Timothy came, moved around and settled in the central North Island.

Bridget came, married and went to the West Coast

Margaret came to Wellington and married an O’Brien

All 130 years or more ago.

However celebrate we must!!!!!!!!!!!!

These five siblings had the courage and tenacity to come to the other side of the world and seek their fortunes.

How proud they would be of us all.

We need to celebrate their memory, share our family links and learn of our past.

That’s what this celebration is about – a good excuse for a crather or two
